Vertical Ridges
An alternation of limestone and grey vertical stripes, built up in relief like successive folds. Light is activated along each edge, between minimal shadow and a saline grain.

Without relying on a central axis, the work orders the field through a sequence of undulating vertical bands that follow one another from side to side, like a wall of slow folds. The alternation between off-whites and cool greys establishes a steady rhythm, yet never a mechanical one: each stripe shows variations in width, breaks and small interruptions that betray the work of assembly.
The palette, restrained and mineral, is enlivened by irregular stippling—spatters and earthy specks—that densifies the surface without breaking its serenity. At the boundaries between bands a warm, almost oxidised line appears, acting as a suture: a narrow stroke that separates, but also links, the strata and adds a discreet vibration.
The profile confirms a construction of moderate depth, based on adhered sheets that rise into ridges and flaps. Light strikes the edges, creating a chain of fine shadows that runs across the format; the relief turns painting into object, and the reading becomes tactile, close to an architecture of porous, breathed skin.
