Beneath an integrated grey frame, the diptych sets out a sequence of horizontal bands that run across both panels in continuity, as if the same skin had been divided into two equal breaths. Each band overlaps the next and leaves an irregular lip; that slight undulation avoids a mechanical effect and sustains a slow rhythm, almost maritime. Two very discreet vertical lines, in a yellowish tone, pass through the whole and recall the assembly, without breaking the serenity of the field.

The range is concentrated in off-whites, lime greys and slight earthy coolings. On that base, a patina of speckling and bubbling generates a porous texture, like dried foam or sedimented salt, which blurs the gesture and makes the surface atmospheric. Light is not depicted: it accumulates on the highs, dies away in the mid-tones and reappears in small abrasions.

Within the relief, the folded cardboard acts as structure. The dark joints, applied as a shadow-seam, emphasise each fold and make the work’s moderate depth visible, activating an architectural and tactile reading, conceived to be viewed from a distance and, at the same time, very close up.
