Lime Hinge
Four earthy fields, set within a limy frame, open along a central fissure that functions as a hinge. Light arises from the grain and from the relief’s minimal shadows.

Like an opening or abstract shutter, the work is ordered into four rectangles of identical scale, contained by a whitish frame with a limy appearance. The composition is tensed along the vertical axis: an irregular fissure runs through the centre and, where it breaks off, reveals two small anchoring points that underscore the idea of closure, of silent joining. A horizontal crossbar divides the height and reinforces the ensemble’s architectural reading.
The palette remains deliberately restrained in greyed ochres, sands and pale earths. Across each panel, a patina of veiled stains and gently denser areas suggests sedimentations, as if the surface recorded the passage of air and salt. The upper and lower edges show a visual wear, slight yet expressive, which humanises the geometry.
Texture is the true motor: a fine, continuous granulation, with small bubbles and points of differing absorption, causes the light to scatter and settle. In side view, the relief becomes decisive: the central joint is not a simple line, but a separating fold that casts a narrow, shifting shadow, activating the plane without stridency.
