With an almost modular discipline, the work unfolds a grid of whitish units repeated with slight variations, like fragments of a single plastering reassembled. In each “cell”, the upper and lower forms are cut with irregular, soft edges; between them remains a dark interval that functions as a visual pause, a negative space that orders the gaze without imposing itself.

The composition is articulated in two contiguous panels, whose separation introduces a real joint, equivalent to the internal lines of the grid. This central cut reinforces the architectural reading of the whole: there is no scene, but a wall surface; no gesture, but construction through pieces, overlaps and edges that set a serene rhythm.

Light acts through grazing. At the meetings between modules, thin shadows appear that betray the low relief, while the pale fields hold a matte, almost calcareous luminosity. The blacks, contained and slightly veiled, absorb depth and make the surface more tactile.

In the skin one perceives grains, small incisions and minimal stains, like a sedimentation of dust and salt. This texture, discreet yet constant, maintains the vibration and sustains the slow contemplation characteristic of Pagliari’s language.
