Against the backlight of the gaze, the work presents itself as a vertical register in which matter dictates the rhythm. A dense, continuous ochre-blackish field is crossed by several yellow bands, porous and with irregular edges, set at intervals like signals of breathing. The dark perimeter, integrated into the support itself, contains the whole and reinforces its character as a panel, almost architectural.

The composition is built on an insistent horizontal logic: parallel lines and cords run across the full width, consolidating a stratified reading. Between those “seams” variations in chromatic temperature open up—reddish browns, toasted tones and black shadows—which do not seek abrupt contrast but a sustained vibration. The lighter bands, flecked with yellow and white, interrupt without breaking, as if introducing a temporal measure within the sediment.

In detail, the surface reveals a precise micro-topography. The raised cords cast minimal shadows and organise the grain; upon them, a meticulous, reiterated white stippling activates the skin as a tactile constellation. The profile confirms a constant thickness, low yet persistent, where colour becomes volume and light, grazing each ridge, transforms the painting into an almost geological body.
