The format asserts itself as a constructed wall in three vertical zones: two light sides and a darker, narrower central strip that acts as a column of gravity. The work is organised in overlapping horizontal bands, each with an irregular edge, like small tiles or flaps that advance and recede with minimal undulation. This repeated rhythm sustains a restrained symmetry: nothing fits entirely, and in those slight deviations the hand appears.
The palette is deliberately austere. On the sides, off-whites and warm greys recall aged limewash; at the centre, the material thickens towards an earthy anthracite, more compact and absorbent. Between the two, narrow vertical “joints” in a sand tone function as seams, making the assembly visible and marking a passage from one climate to another.
Light is not described: it is produced. In profile, the relief reveals its real thickness; the flaps cast fine, regular shadows that modulate the surface like a slow breathing. Detail confirms a porous skin, speckled with grain and small cavities, which dulls any sheen and turns the plane into a tactile field, halfway between architecture and sedimentation.
