Two stratified fields confront one another: porous lime and dark earths, joined by a seam that turns relief into a silent architecture.

Far from presenting itself as a scene, the work is constructed as an encounter between two territories of matter. A vertical join, irregular and slightly offset, articulates the format into two halves of equivalent weight: on the left, a pale wall of folded bands; on the right, an earthy accretion where darkness appears in repeated vertical cuts.
The left-hand side treats light as if it were mineral dust. The horizontal flaps, layered in a steady rhythm, reveal a porous skin flecked with fine grain; along the axis, a narrow ochre strip acts as a seam, tempering the white and anchoring the reading. By contrast, the right field concentrates density: bands of sand and brown pile up like strata, traversed by a column of black indentations rising at intervals, suggesting vents or small fissures.
The palette, deliberately restrained, oscillates between lime, ochre and toasted earths, with greys and blacks that intensify edges and cuts. A profile view confirms the thickness: each fold casts a minimal shadow and makes light, as it shifts, activate the relief as an intimate architecture—measured and persistent.
