Read as a diptych, two equal fields confront and balance one another as though they were leaves of the same wall. The composition is arranged in a grid of rows, and in each cell a vertical form with a sinuous edge appears, repeated with minimal variations. A darker central joint runs through both panels and acts as an axis of gravity: it does not separate, but rather concentrates the rhythm and anchors the work’s breathing.
The palette, restrained to off-whites and ash greys, operates through an accumulation of glazes and dragged passes. On each module, traces of pull, slightly burnished areas and stains can be perceived, densifying the tone without tipping into abrupt contrast. Light lingers on the upper planes of the reliefs, while the lateral indentations hold a fine shadow that draws, almost without line, the undulating outline.
The profile confirms a constructed materiality: the plane is not uniform, but articulated by adhered pieces that raise a low, constant relief. The horizontal joins, discreet yet present, recall seams or plaster joints; this tectonic condition turns the surface into an object, closer to a wall plane than to an image, and ensures that each shift in the viewer’s position reactivates the ensemble’s matte vibration.
