Mineral Intermittence
A limestone-grey field crossed by three vertical pulses and two bands of pale foam. Light is produced in the grain and in a barely pronounced relief, with an architectural breath.

A grey silence, limestone in appearance, occupies the format as if it were a skin laid out and stretched taut. Over this ground of extremely fine grain, three slightly offset vertical axes are organised, acting like porous columns: their density increases towards the centre and dissolves at the edges, modulating the passage of the gaze.
Two horizontal bands, one high and one low, traverse the surface with a more open, whitish matter, with bubbles and small craters. They do not form a clean cut, but rather a band that frays and lets the grey substrate show through, creating a vibration of shore or arrested foam. Between the two, the central space remains more contained, and within it small linear incisions are suggested, interrupting the continuum like adjustment marks.
Light does not come from chromatic contrast, but from the behaviour of the texture: the fine grain mutes, while the thicker matter catches glints and casts minimal shadows. In profile, a sober construction can be perceived, of shallow depth yet effective, where the accretions and adhesions are integrated into the plane without losing their tactile condition.
