Mineral Interstice
Vertical diptych of speckled limestone skin, crossed by a black joint that acts as axis and respiration. Light settles in the grain and in the minimal shadow of the relief.

Far from any figurative anecdote, two narrow panels are set out like twin bodies, separated by an interval that makes the air visible. In each piece, a dark band, close to the inner edge, functions as a tectonic column: it concentrates weight and fixes a constant measure, while the rest of the field opens into an off-white with irregular vibration.
The light surface is worked like a porous epidermis, spattered with circular cavities of varying sizes. On one side, the “eyes” of the matter grow, cluster, and allow ochres and earths to show through, like trapped sediments; on the other, the constellation refines into a smaller, almost nebulous stippling that softens the reading and lightens the density. This alternation constructs a balance between the organic and the architectural.
The relief is low but persistent: each bubble edge raises a minimal ridge that catches the light and casts a fine shadow, generating a slow pulse. The black band, with a more compact cellular texture, intensifies the contrast and acts as a joint or suture, underscoring the condition of wall and the material calm characteristic of Pagliari.
